After months of exciting football display, the GTBank Masters Cup 2016 has reached the semi final in the boys and girls categories with eye catching match ups.
The matches in the semi final will feature familiar rivals and a couple of new entrants and surprise teams. Two debutants have made it to the final four while three teams are making their first appearance in the semi finals in the boys and girls categories.
DAY 1
QUEENS COLLEGE, YABA VS ANSAR-UD-DEEN GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL, ITIRE
Defending champions and three-time winners, Queens College, Yaba who breezed through the group stage of the competition without losing any match and after a tense quarter final fixture against Federal Government College, Ijanikin (a match which they won by a lone goal) will face perennial rivals Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls High School, Itire who will be hoping to avenge their loss in the 2015 GTBank Masters Cup Final.

CHRISLAND SCHOOLS VS ST. GREGORY’S COLLEGE
The battle for supremacy this season does not get bigger than this – St. Gregory’s College, Lagos – Defending Champions – will be seeking to get one over the highly organized and disciplined debutants Chrisland Schools.
St. Gregory’s College will be seeking a consecutive final berth after winning the title in 2014. They made it to this year’s semi final by defeating Eko Boys High School, Mushin – the team they lost to in the 2013 final – by two goals to one
Chrisland has taken the competition by storm topping their group and defeating experienced campaigners ADRAO International School in the Quarter Final by three goals to one.

DAY 2
FEDERAL SCIENCE & TECHNICAL COLLEGE, YABA VS METHODIST GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL, YABA
In what has been tagged the Yaba Derby, Federal Science & Technical College, Yaba are making their first appearance in the semi finals while Methodist Girls High School will be hoping to be third time lucky in their semi final appearance. They both recorded emphatic wins in the quarter finals to set-up what promises an exciting encounter.

KING’S COLLEGE, LAGOS VS GREENSPRINGS SCHOOL, LEKKI
Two-time finalist, King’s College, Lagos have a date with destiny as they take on Greensprings School the highest scoring team this season (15 goals).
After a shaky start to the competition, King’s College gradually found their rhythm which culminated in an exciting quarter final match against International School University of Lagos; a match they won by five goals to three.
Greensprings School who are making their first appearance in this competition have taken everyone by surprise with their ruthlessness in front of goal coupled with their disciplined and highly technical organized playing style which has been a marvel to watch. They have shown invincibility this season by not losing any match and the only chink in their armour came against Whitesands School, Lekki in a match they won on penalties after playing a 1-1 in regulation time
