Exciting Football Matches

First Official Match of the NBG 2025 Tournament

The first footBall match of the NBG was between defending football Champions, Sterling Bank and the defending Overall Champions, Wema Bank.
Wema Bank controlled most of the game and should have scored more goals than the one goal they got through Ayomide Ojo in a goal mouth scramble. Sterling Bank had their Goalie, Paul Nwaokete to thank for keeping the score line respectable during the first half. He pulled off a couple of world class saves.
The second half saw a resurgent Sterling Bank making a determined effort to equalize, this they did through Tobi Mejidi. The final minutes of the half saw both teams pushing for maximum points, however, they had to settle for a share of the spoils in what was a very thrilling match.
