The Nigeria FMCG Games Season 3 final which held on Saturday, July 9 2016 saw Unilever Nigeria clinch the title of football champions for the 2nd consecutive time.
The thrilling event was a battle of champions, as defending champions, Unilever Nigeria and REMITA champions, Nestle Nigeria battled in athletics and a highly competitive final football match.
After a full time of exciting football action which ended in a goalless draw, there was extra-time for both team. The extra-time also ended in a stale-mate, leading to penalty shoot-outs that gave Nestle away, with Unilever emerging football champions.
Team Nestle and Friesland Campina received the football silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the 100m and 200m race of the athletics event which had Nestle and Unilever participate in the female and male category, Nestle dominated the entire race, with Unilever going home with a Silver medal in the 100m female category.
