The 5th Edition of the PwC Chess4Change Grand Slam has been scheduled to hold on Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th March at Molade Okoya Thomas – Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
The Grand Slam Tournament is the capstone event of the PwC Chess4Change initiative and will feature 22 schools across 4 Lagos State Education Districts.
Participants will compete in both the individual and team categories across 12 rounds using the Swiss-System format to determine the winners who will be awarded prizes and gifts at the closing ceremony.
This 5th Edition kicked off in October 2018 with 18 participating schools. The scholars have undergone a 3-Month intensive chess tutelage and Two Mini Challenge competitions leading up to the Grand Slam Tournament. The PwC Chess4Change programme is an initiative sponsored by PwC. The programme focuses on the development of youths in Lagos State Secondary Schools.
