MediaVision Limited recently renewed and documented the contract agreement with the world’s second largest professional services network and foremost Auditing, Consulting and Tax Services firm – PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The contract is an endorsement to expand the chess4change project, as a result of the successful inaugural edition. The pilot edition featured six (6) schools:
- Kings College, Lagos
- Lagos Akande Dahunsi Memorial Senior Secondary School, Ikoyi
- Kuramo College, Victoria Island
- Falomo High School, Ikoyi
- Government Senior College, Victoria Island
- Holy Child College, Ikoyi
As a precursor to the Second edition coming up in September 2015, we have profiled Twelve (12) schools from Two (2) educational districts in Lagos State – District 3 (Eti-osa Local Government) and District 4 (Mainland, Surulere & Apapa).
To precede the commencement of the second edition, our certified Grand Masters & Coaches are already building momentum towards the competition particularly with the training & mentorship plans. This will aid early detection of what our scholastic chess players needs to work on before the competition.
It is precedence to mention our post – competition plans – at the end of each season; we track the academic progress of all scholastic chess players respectively to validate the quantum merits of playing the game of chess such as:
- Memory booster
- Increase problem solving skills
- Improves reading skills
- Hones concentration level
With over fifty Percent (50%) exponential growth from the last season, PwC Chess4Change is an indication of a flagship, sustainable and reassuring platform for our young scholars as well as an addition to the voluntary Extra-Academic activities of secondary schools.
The second edition will be an exciting, fun and experiential moment for our stake holders.
