The first half ended goalless as both sides could not convert their chances.
Airtel started the second half with gusto as they search for their first win this season. LM Ericsson played most of the second half fending off the Airtel attack.

It all looked like it was going to end barren but a late tackle by LM Ericsson defender in the 18 yard box gave last year’s 2nd Runners Up a penalty. Airtel striker, Musa Yisa well taken spot kick handed his team the most important goal of the day and the maximum points.

In the second fixture, new comers IHS defeated Etisalat 2-0. Etisalat started on good note as they tried to forget their poor run this season. They tried to contain the IHS danger man- Ibrahim Anifowoshe who was running riot.

The scoreline was goalless at the break and it seems Etisalat may get a point. However, 10 minutes before full time, Ibrahim scored from a corner kick and that added to Etisalat’s woes. But it was not over yet. IHS doubled the lead in the last minutes from a defensive error and that ended the game.

With the win IHS maintain their 100% record and Etisalat are at the bottom of the table with just one point.
