SKYE, UBA, FIDELITY & FIRST BANK START BRIGHTLY

The 2014 Nigeria Bankers Games flagged off on Saturday 27th of September with plenty of fanfare. The opening ceremony was kicked off with a march pass by the participating banks. march-pass

This was followed by the unveiling of the new Hall of Famers. Of the five people nominated (Solomon Idowu, Ebenezer Joseph, Vivian Ezenwoko, Jide Shiwuoku and Segun Babatunde) three were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Ebenezer Joseph (Skye Bank) Segun Babatunde (Sterling Bank) and Vivian Ezenwoko (Fidelity Bank) were all inducted.

The unveiling was followed by the main action of the day. Skye Bank the football defending champions took on Stanbic-IBTC and nicking that one by a lone goal. An exquisite freekick scored by Ismaili Sani. The other game saw Fidelity Bank beating Standard Chartered Bank 1 nil. Oyefeso Oladimeji scoring from the penalty spot.

On Sunday UBA repeated the feat of 2013 beating Sterling Bank 2-0. Goals from Emeka Iwu and Emmanuel Igboke giving them victory, whilst Dele Oshikomaiya’s goal was enough to give First bank a 1-0 victory over Ecobank.
