The Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos made history on Friday, the 12th of September 2014 as it hosted the first Nigeria’s version of Extreme Games tagged the MX-Games
with prizes in four categories.Organised by MediaVision Limited with the endorsement of the Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Sports, the first MX-Games is billed to start at 2pm and competition will be in Roller-Skating, BMX Biking, Skateboarding and Unicycles.“We are delighted to have pulled all stops to bring to the country our version of the international Extreme Games concept and on Friday the custom-built course we recently commissioned, there was competitions in four categories which including Roller-Skating, BMX Biking, Unicycles and Skateboarding”, Fela Bank-Olemoh.He explained that participation was on individual basis and added, “at this nascent era of the games, we have an objective to first nurture individual skills and with time they can start coming together as teams”.The organisers also expressed delight at the entries and excitement generated during the competition and said, “Winners were handed out prize money in each category, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed participants were rewarded. We provided cash prizes because it is our objective to get the youths engaged profitably through their talents”.
