Nigeria’s leading Sports Marketing and Activations Company, MediaVision Limited has unveiled the first professional gaming tour in the Nigeria – CyberGames.

CyberGames is an electronic sports event where participants will compete in video games using the most popular console platforms in the world featuring Football and Combat events.

While Video Gaming competitions have become widespread globally, in Nigeria, electronic sports has barely risen beyond a platform entertainment and relaxation amongst peers.

This is where MediaVision Limited sees the gap. The long term vision for CYBERGAMES is to professionalize the sport by creating a calendar tour where players and enthusiasts can earn a regular and sustainable income.

The first edition will feature 64 Gamers competing in – FIFA 18 while Mortal Kombat will be an exhibition event with mouth-watering prizes to be won by the top performers. More than N1 Million Naira will be won from the total prize pool with the eventual champion going home with N200,000.00.

Speaking on the event, the COO of MediaVision Limited – Jimmy Sogbesan said, “The Video Game Industry is worth over $112 Billion Dollars globally. This is our attempt to upgrade from our mind-set of consumerism to become a player (no pun intended) and start controlling a piece of that action”.

Speaking further he said “Many Nigerian gamers have spent hundreds or even thousands of hours perfecting their expertise on various games and consoles – why shouldn’t they be able to earn from that skill?”

In the first calendar year, MediaVision Limited will host 8 regular CyberGames events and climax with a season-ending All-Star Event which will feature the outstanding performers from the regular events.

CyberGames 2018 will kick off at the Nikoms Events Center, Yaba on Saturday 9th June, 2018 from 10am.
