Nigeria FMCG Games

A crowd of expectant fans and football enthusiasts came out to watch the Match Day Two (2) of the 2018 Nigeria FMCG Games on Sunday 9th September at the Yabatech Sports Complex.

The eventful day had top management from participating teams; Oluwatorinmo Fabamwo – Human Resource Manager, Reckitt Benckiser, Ashraf Abubakari – Factory Controller Agbara, Nestle, Adelanwa Olawunmi – Human Resource Services Manager, Nestle, Lawal Shakiru – Human Resources Manager, Agbara Factory, Nestle came to witness two (2) action packed matches between the defending Champion – FrieslandCampina, Reckitt Benckiser, Guinness Nigeria and Nestle Nigeria.

The first match of the day saw the FMCG football defending champions, FrieslandCampina take on Reckitt Benckiser in a tight affair. Both teams created multiple chances but both goalkeepers showed they were up to the task by keeping all shots from hitting the back of the net.

Reckitt Benckiser’s Alonge Moses, who was named man of the match put in a shift for his side. He created a lot of chances and was a constant threat to the FrieslandCampina defence. Although it ended in a stale mate the game was very as both teams put on great performances.

Guinness took on Nestle in the second match in another close call game. Nestle were in the driving seat for majority of the match creating chances and dictating the pace of the game. In the latter stages of the game Guinness picked up some pace and created a few chances. Both teams had late chances to clinch victory but both goals were ruled out by the referees for offside call.

The match ended goalless. Nestle Striker – Adebari Kamoru who proved versatile and determined on the pitch won the most valuable player of the match.
