Extreme sports course begins in Lagos
LAGOS STATE COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH, SPORTS AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, WAHID OSHODI, on Wednesday unveiled the first ever Extreme Sports Course in the country at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.
The commissioner ably represented by the permanent secretary in the ministry Mr.Oluseyi Whenu.The commissioning preceded the inaugural edition of the innovative MX Games, a brainchild of MediaVision Limited in collaboration with the Lagos State Government.
The CEO of MediaVision Limited, Fela Bank-Olemoh, described the unveiling as the outcome of years of design and planning to put Nigeria on the map of Extreme Sports nations.
Bank-Olemoh said, “We are obviously impressed with the efforts of the Lagos State Ministry of Youths, Sports and Social Development at creating platforms, especially through sports for youth engagement and the MX Games are coming to complement that effort.
“It has taken three years and lots of interaction with partners within and outside Nigeria to realise this project and the MX Games are culmination of those years of design and planning.”
He added, “The MX Games will further engage an increasing number of youths who have got passion for events using roller-skating and skateboarding.”
Present at the unveiling are representative of the commissioner of sports in lagos state Mr.oluseyi Whenu who is the permanent secretary office of the sports commissioner, mr kweku Tandoh -Director of sports in the ministry , Mrs bimbo ALABI (so klin),mr Godson Uti -General Manager facilities Lagos state,mr bode Oguntuyi,
