 As Season 5 of the GTBank Masters Cup Competition enters its knockout phase, below is a list of teams to watch out for:

  • CHRISLAND SCHOOLS

Although new entrants to the competition, Chrisland is a well-coordinated team with a good team formation. The school emerged top of its group scoring 10 goals and conceding none, all thanks to their ever reliable defender and captain.

Strength: A well-coordinated defence & offense.

Key Players: Ezike Gift aka “Captain Fantastic” and Douchima Jeff Moss

  • CORONA SCHOOL

The school has been a part of the competition since its inception and emerged top of its group scoring 8 goals and conceding 2. Corona is the 3rd highest scoring team in the preliminary stage and a school with a very good counterattack.

Strength: Strong Offense.

Key Players: Bowo Ogunro aka “Team Leader” and Augustine Onuh

  • GREENSPRINGS SCHOOLS

The Greensprings Schools joined the competition this Season as new entrants. The school emerged top of its group scoring 12 goals and conceding 4. It also scored the highest number of goals in the preliminary stage. Greensprings is a team to contend with as its players are dedicated and well-coordinated.

Strength: Well-coordinated unit with strong defensive & offensive sides.

Key Players: Onyenze Elvis and Wale Ali

  • KINGS COLLEGE LAGOS

The school has been part of the competition since its inception and has played in the finals twice emerging runner up on both occasions. Kings College was top of its group scoring 6 goals and only conceding 2 during the group stage matches.

Strength: Speed with which they go on the offensive.

Key Players: Evarada Johnson, Ofong Henry aka “the Beast”

  • GREGORY’S COLLEGE

This school has also been part of the competition since its inception and has played in the Finals twice, emerging both as winner and runner up respectively. It came 2nd in its group, scoring 10 goals and conceding 6 goals. St. Greggs is the defending champions and is a team to watch.

Strength: Strong Offense.

Key Players: Unegbu Ifeanyi and Ndubueze Nzube

  • WESTERN COLLEGE

The school has been part of the competition since its inception and played in the Semi Finals last year, emerging 3rd place. Western College topped its group scoring 5 goals and conceding 3 during the group stage matches. The experience of the team captain was instrumental to the team’s success during the group stage matches.

Strength: Strong Offense.

Key Players: Ekene Jegbefume
