Season 5 of the GTBank Masters Cup Competition has been filled with surprises as the runner up from last season, St. Finbarrs College, was knocked out in the Group Phase. In addition, the new entrants to this year’s competition; Chrisland Schools and Greensprings Schools, topped their respective groups despite the presence of such heavy weights like St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi and St. Finbarrs College, Akoka. The two schools scored the highest number of goals at the end of the group phase and based on their performance so far, they have been tipped to play in the Finals of this year’s competition.

Another surprise is the number of goals that was scored at the group stage of this year’s competition. A total of 99 goals was recorded during the preliminary round alone. Below is a list of the highest goal scorers for both the boys and girls categories:
