The Quarter Finals of the 2016 edition of the GTBank-Lagos State Principals Cup will hold on Thursday, 5th and Friday, 6th May 2016 at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
The competition kicked off began early in the year with a Press Conference & unveil at the Sports Bar Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere Lagos after which zonal preliminaries commenced. The zonal preliminaries witnessed participation from over 355 secondary schools in Lagos State across the six educational districts.
Eight teams that qualified from the state preliminariesin the boys and girls categories will trade tackles to determine which teams make their schools proud by making it to the money-spinning final four in each category.
Defending Champions in the girls category, Ikotun Senior High School who breezed through the preliminary stage without dropping a point will face a familiar foe in 2014 Champions – Government College, Agege in a grudge match while defending Champions in the boys category, Birrel Avenue Senior High School will face 2-time Champions, Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Agege.
In other fixtures (Boys); Group A winners, Muslim Senior College, Oworo will entertain Keme Balogun Senior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Cardoso Senior High School, Ijora will battle the defensively disciplined Ejigbo Senior Secondary School and Ikotun Senior High School will take on high flying Jubilee Senior Grammar School, Surulere.
In the Girls fixtures; perennial quarter finalists, CMS Girls High School, Bariga have their work cut-out for them against no nonsense Ajeromi Ifelodun Senior High School, Ajegunle while Sanya Senior Grammar School, Surulere take on Alakoto Senior Secondary School, Tolu and Isale Eko Grammar School entertain Okemagba High School, Epe
The matches will witness dignitaries from the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Lagos State Sports Commission, GTBank, Lagos State Football Association, Principals, Students and members of the press.
