The first CyberGames Experience of 2019 kicked off on Valentine’s Day, with the best FIFA and Mortal Kombat players in Lagos all playing at Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall, Surulere, Lagos.
The Valentine’s special edition themed “FOR LOVE OF THE GAME” w as electrifying and fun packed.
The competition which had 24 Top Gamers, was keenly contested as the champion from the debut edition Adefola 09 played against the eventual winner Imaji Boiy who happens to have won the December 2018 Ikeja City Mall Alausa Experience Edition in the quarterfinals match. Otis who emerge 1st Runner up was one of the surprises of the competition. The players exhibited good sportsmanship behaviour even in the face of defeat.
The competition summary is as follows:
- Football (FIFA 19)
- 24 Players
- 6 Groups of 4 Players per group
- Round Robin format for group stage
- Top 2 players from each group and 4 best losers qualified for the knockout round
The Top 3 Gamers at the event were;
- Imaji Faruna (Imaji Boiy) – 1st Place
- Otis Precious (Otis) – 2nd Place
- Bamigbola dare (Ginchi) – 3rd Place
The winner of the Valentine edition of the event went away with a sum of 40,000.00 NGN, the 2nd Place – 30,000.00 NGN, 3rd Place – 20,000.00 NGN and 4th Place – 10,000.00 NGN.
Over 200 spectators had a feel of the Cybergames event. Some spectators participated in a Mini Challenge competition were they won shopping vouchers and other freebies.
Watch out as the next edition of the tour is set to come up in March 2019.
