The tutoring sessions for the second edition of the PwC Chess4Change initiative kicks off across the thirteen selected schools. The sessions commenced on Wednesday 14th October 2015 at St. Timothy’s College Iway, Aiyetoro Senior Grammar School Ebute Metta and Itolo Girls Senior Secondary School Surulere. Professional chess coaches are attached to the participating schools where they are expected to teach/tutor the students the game of Chess twice a week.
The tutoring sessions which is aimed at preparing the students for the Grand Slam Tournament is expected to last over a period of three months. Students will be thought the rudiments of the game of Chess i.e identification of each piece and their various moves, fundamental moves in the game of chess.
The sessions will continue with classes holding at all the thirteen schools from Monday to Friday.
