With the curtains coming down on the 18th edition of the Nigeria Bankers Games, the anticipation generated towards the finals of the football and athletics event reaches fever pitch.
The Football finals promises to be more entertaining and full of suspense as defending champions Fidelity bank who have won the trophy for three consecutive seasons, battle the high flying 5- time champions UBA. This will be UBA’s first finals since the 2014 season, where they defeated Skye Bank in the finals.
However, the question of who triumphs will be decided on the pitch this weekend live at the YabaTech Sports Complex, Yaba.
The third place match will see – FCMB – bronze medalists from last season, take on a strong Union Bank team- who made it all the way to the Semis for the first time.
There would also be a novelty match between KPMG and the Corporate Nigeria Hall of Fame to officially kick start the day’s proceedings.
In the Athletics event, the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay finals will also be taking place. There are 6 gold medals up for grabs and this is where the Overall Champions of the tournament will be decided.
Medals will also be awarded to winners in all events – Football, Athletics, Chess, Scrabble, Tennis and Table Tennis.
The Closing Ceremony of the 2018 NBG will feature:
- Hall of Fame Novelty Match
- Third Place Match – FCMB vs. Union Bank
- The Final Match – UBA vs. Fidelity Bank
- Presentation of Gifts and Medals – Other Events
- Pennant Handover
- Presentation of Gifts and Medals – MVPs, Best Goal Keeper, Highest Goal Scorer, etc.
- Presentation of Trophy – Football Champions
The finals will hold live @ Yaba Sport Complex this Sunday; November 25, 2018 from 12:00pm prompt.
PRESENTATION OF AWARDS, MEDALS & GIFTS
All winners are encouraged to attend the closing ceremony of the NBG 2018 as they will be presented with winner’s medals and gift.
