NEEEWWWW

Swipha. First Bank is preparing for the 14th Nigeria Bankers Games, while Swipha who are playing their first match in the Corporate Nigeria Games Platform are getting set for the inaugural edition of the Nigeria Pharma Games. The Match ended one all.

OPENING MATCH
The opening Game of the tournament was between Unilever and PZ Cussons.

fmcgzsNEWUnilever finished bottom in the football event in the last edition while PZ Cussons narrowly missed the final and ended up in third place.

The match was a fitting start to the Games as a highly improved Unilever took the game to the Robb Boys. Their early pressing paid off as they quickly opened scoring through Ikechukwu Enebeli, the game eventually settled down as both teams tried to carve out clear cut chances.
Action resumed in the second half and once again, it was Unilever who were quicker off the blocks. It didn’t take long before Unilever doubled their advantage through Richard Ekhadalor. This seemed to spur PZ Cussons into action as they started asking questions of the Unilever defence. Midway through the second half, PZ Cussons got back into the game as they pulled a goal back. Usman Musa of PZ Cussons was a constant threat in his side’s search for an equalizer. The Unilever defence was put on the back foot for spells of time as Tayo Ogunji’s set pieces from all corners of the pitch caused all sorts of problems in the opposition defence. Just as time was running out, the Unilever defence buckled as Gregory Kposu in a mix up with his goalkeeper put the ball in his own net under pressure.
The spoils have been shared in the opening contest, but action will resume on Saturday 14th June, 2014 at the Legacy Pitch, Inside the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos.
