MVL POWER MAN SERIES

The Power Man Series Powered by MediaVision Limited  is a unique kind of sports where athletes exhibits brute strength, stamina and skills through the lifting, carrying and pulling of heavy duty machines or objects. The competition involves force, stamina, skills, tactics, training and strategy.

Power Man Series will comprise of events designed to suit both the local form of heavy duty activities and a sponsor’s perspective.

EVENTS

The Power Man Series will comprise of the following proposed events:

Loading Race

As the name implies, athletes are expected to carry five object with weight varying between 100kg -150kg through a given distance (50ft or 15m) unto a platform or a truck bed. The athlete who happens to load all the objects on the platform in the fastest time is declared the winner.

Vehicle Pull

This event requires athlete to pull vehicles such as Buses, Trucks, Trams and /or an Air Plane across a 100 ft. /30m course, by hand, in the quickest time possible wearing a harness and a pulling rope.

Dead Lift

This event requires an athlete to lift weights or vehicles up to about 1,100 lb. (500 kg) straight off the ground until knees lock in a standing position. The Lift can be for either maximum weight, maximum repetitions with a fixed weight, or for time whilst holding a single repetition.

Squat Lift

In this event, athletes squat large weights of up to 900 lb. (409 kg) of kegs, bricks, a car, or people on a platform. Weighted objects/kegs are dropped into a cage, one at a time after each successful lift (the event in this case is scored by weight instead of repetitions). The athlete will continue until completion, failure or time expires. The challenge is to lift the objects as many times as possible whilst remaining in a fixed position, with only the strength they can put into their squat to help them.

Super Yoke

The apparatus for this event is made up of a crossbar and two uprights weighing upwards of 400 kg carried across the shoulders for a set distance. Winners to emerge based on fastest time recorded.

Crucifix

Athletes are expected to lift weights with their hands held straight out at each side for as long a time as possible. Winner of this event to emerge based on the time spent in holding up the object.

MEDLEY

This comprises of more than two event merged in a single challenge. The Medley Challenge comprises of the following events:

• Loading heavy objects unto a truck
• Pushing loaded truck through a distance.
• Farmer’s Walk
• Super Yoke

The Power Man Series is opened to all after the stipulated requirements (Weight, Medicals & Registration) are met.

Cash prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners at the end of the event.

MVL CYBER GAMES COMPETITION

The MVL CYBER GAMES COMPETITION is an electronic sports (e-sports) event where participants compete in electronic games using consoles – PlayStation.

The Games are absorbing, highly engaging and entertaining and they require.

• Quick Thinking/Decision making Skills
• High Level of Concentration
• Good hand-eye coordination

The Cyber Games was created to:

• Address the needs of players and fans by creating a place for them to connect and share a common interest.
• Guarantee an overall virtual gaming experience.
• Tap the hidden potential of the virtual games industry

This competition will bring video game lovers and players into the MVL Cyber Gaming community and give the players the opportunity to make money from playing video games while entertaining spectators.

The first edition is billed for May 2016.

MX-GAMES

The X Games refers to a group of “extreme” or “renegade” sports which include Skateboarding, Roller-skating, Rally Car Racing, BMX Biking, Power Biking, Climbing, Surfing etc. These sports often involve a high degree of Speed, Height, a high level of physical exertion, and spectacular acrobatic stunts using highly specialized equipment.
It’s the fastest growing youth targeted sport in the world and has gained so much popularity that some of the events have been accepted into the mainstream summer and Winter Olympics.
In Nigeria, Skateboarding, Roller-skating and Power biking have seen a significant increase in participation in recent years.
MediaVision Limited is pioneering the institution of an organized X-Games structure in Nigeria with regular competitions and an official ranking system.
Events will include Skateboarding, Roller-skating, in various categories like Obstacle Course, Straight Dash, Team Choreography and Individual Skills Challenge.

PEF HEALTH SYMPOSIUM

MediaVision Limited helped PEF organize a Healthy-Living Symposium for its staff in Lagos.
PEF is Petroleum Equalization Fund Management Board – a government agency critical to ensuring the timely deployment of petroleum products across the country.
With many employees in every corner of the country, the Healthy Living Symposium was an important platform in enhancing team bonding whilst giving them critical information to ensure a healthy lifestyle and maintain a work-life balance.

The first symposium held on November 9th 2012 at the RockView Hotel, Apapa, Lagos. The symposium will hold annually.

INTER-COLLEGIATE GAMES

This is an annually held athletics meet for Lagos State First Generation Colleges.
The Intercollegiate Athletic Games is a Stepwise Developmental Program intended to Identify, Hone and Develop outstanding Athletic talents in secondary schools.
Events include Athletics Sprints, Long, High & Triple Jump, Board Games and Basketball.MediaVision Limited are exclusive managers & marketers of this competition.
