The Nigeria FMCG Games season 3 is here!

The countdown to the annual tournament began weeks ago and climaxed at the opening ceremony on Saturday 28th May, 2016, at the Digital Bridge Institute, Cappa, Illupeju-Lagos.

The competition kicked off with an opening match between defending champions of the the Remita Corporate Champions Cup, Nestle Nigeria and debutantes, Friesland Campina.

Expectations from the game was to see Nestle Nigeria dominate on the pitch and show a better understanding of the environment, having participated in previous years. But the game took an unexpected turn, as it was highly competitive, with the debutantes displaying amazing skills.

With a strong defence from both teams, none was ready to back down, leading to a goalless full-time match.

Matthew Nwankwo of Friesland Campina emerged MVP of the match.

The event also featured several spectator fun games, including, ‘take a shot’, where spectators and supporters were opportune to also display football skills.

The football action will resume on Saturday 4th June, 2016 at the Digital Bridge Institute, Cappa, Illupeju – Lagos.

Other teams that are ready and rearing to display their skills on the pitch in this season of the FMCG Games are: defending champions, Unilever; 2013 champions, Dufil Prima and debutantes, BUA Group.

Like previous seasons, this season will feature other sports events, including – Table Tennis, Athletics, Chess and Scrabble.

This season of the FMCG Games will last for 5 weeks starting from Saturday, 28th June, 2016.
Can Unilever defend double title of football and overall champions? Will there be a surprise from the debutantes?
