Camp GTBankProjects

 

 The award presentation to the best behaved male and female student Camp GTBank 2017 was held at the Head Quarters of the Lagos State Football Association, Onikan on Wednesday, 6th September 2017.

In attendance were:

  • Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi – 1st Vice President Nigeria Football Federation; Chairman, Lagos State Football Association and Chairman, Principals Cup Planning Committee
  • Mrs Tolulope Onipede – Corporate Communications and External Affairs Group, GTBank
  • Mrs Abisoye Balogun – Corporate Communications and External Affairs Group, GTBank
  • Mr Dotun Coker – Chairman Technical Committee, Lagos State Football Association (LSFA)
  • Mr Willy Ogunlamoye – Rep. the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education
  • Mr Olugbenro Lucas – Chairman, Technical Committee, Lagos First Generation Heritage Colleges Association (LAFGHECA)
  • Mr Jimmy Sogbesan – Chief Operating Officer, Mediavision Limited
  • Nike Abiola – Head, Projects Unit, Mediavision Limited
  • Mr Nwachukwu Clifford – Father of Nwachukwu Onyedika (Best Behaved Male)
  • Mrs Onyinyechi Ariwa – Mother of Ariwa Nkechi (Best Behaved Female)
  • Mr Odele Olufemi – Coach, Ikorodu Senior High School
  • Nwachukwu Onyedika – St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka
  • Ariwa Nkechi – Ikorodu Senior High School

The chief host – Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi welcomed everyone to the award presentation. He mentioned that the Camp GTBank 2017 was a success and it goes without saying that the camp is a fantastic programme that hones the football skills of the students as well as imbibe the tenets of good attitude on and off the pitch.

In addition, he commended GTBank for their commitment to youth development in Lagos State through grassroots football.

Furthermore, he recognized the best behaved male and female students for displaying the right attitude at the camp and that this award is an indication of greater achievements for them in posterity.

Not forgetting the parents present at the event, he implored the parents to continue being available for their children and appreciates the parents for their presence at the award presentation.

Into the future, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi stated that he is working towards the growth of commemorating best behaved students during the annual Camp GTBank to encourage and inspire the camp attendees.

The second remark by Mrs Tolulope Onipede underlined that attitude is everything, she urges the students to keep it up and their good attitude and character will take them anywhere they want in this life.

Nike Abiola outlined the indices used to select the best behaved male and female students. During the camp, two students with exemplary behaviour were selected by the Camp Coordinators. The parameters include:

  • Active participation during field sessions
  • Active participation during class sessions
  • Self confidence
  • Punctual to all sessions
  • Initiative to support officials and co-ordinators
  • Leadership Traits
  • Complying with instructions
  • Communicates effectively
  • Listening attentively during class room session
  • Always Neatly Dressed

The Best Behaved Male – Nwachukwu Onyedika had high points in the following indices – always neatly dressed, Initiative to support officials and coordinators, leadership traits, punctual to all sessions, and participation during field and class sessions.

The Best Behaved Female – Ariwa Nkechi had high points in the following indices – always neatly dressed, active during field and class session, complies with instructions, initiative to support officials and coordinators, punctual to all sessions and self confidence.

The students received their Plaque and Cheque of 50,000 naira presented by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi respectively.

Mr Jimmy Sogbesan appreciated Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi for going beyond his call of duty by supporting and inspiring the students. He also commended the Ministry of Education, LAFGHECA & LSFA for their continuous support towards the GTBank football tournaments.

Abisoye Balogun further mentioned that outside the pre-determined performance indices, the best behaved male and female had displayed good attitude during their various camp activities. She gave kudos to the parents for a job well-done. Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi also added that the coaches have also done a good job by training the students to be of good character.

Finally, the vote of thanks was done by Nwachukwu Onyedika. He thanked the Ministry of Education, LAFGHECA, GTBank, Mediavision Limited and Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi for the opportunity they have given them through the GTBank Football Tournaments.
